Alex Sparrow – UK Hempcrete 

Alex Sparrow is the director of UK Hempcrete: a company which specialises in low impact building and the repair and upgrading of traditional and historic buildings using natural, sustainable materials. Alex is recognised as one of the UK’s leading advisors in the use of hempcrete, regularly speaking at conferences and events and writing articles. Alex co-wrote The Hempcrete Book: Designing and building with hemp-lime, published in October 2014 by Green Books, which has been widely acknowledged as the definitive guide to the use of cast-on-site hempcrete in construction.

Ursula Mock

Ursula Mock is the founder of “Hanfliebe” a clothing label with ecology and sustainability at the forefront of their work. “Hanfliebe” is pioneering a new kind of business termed “ecosocial”- the complimentary combination of ecological and social ideas. They create beautiful garments and have a range of clothing for men women and children.


Sarah is an award-winning story-teller and ritual artist.  She will be weaving her magic and holding us spellbound with her stories.  She will also be holding a space for us to close the festival and take the seeds we have gained back out into the world…


Poet, activist and owner/manager at Hemp in Avalon, Glastonbury for 20 years- Free has made it his life’s mission to Free Cannabis. Free will be sharing his extensive knowledge and research on the History of Prohibition: how and why a plant became illegal.

Jules Levy

Jules Levy is a cannabis accomplice. He gained a geography masters from Exeter University with a dissertation on human-cannabis relationships across scale from the molecular to the human. Jules continues to speak on behalf of cannabis advocating a holistic approach to our relationship with her. Jules maintains the Green Party drug policy FB and Twitter profiles.

Nick Read

Nick (from English Hemp) lives off grid in a hemp-insulated and clad shepherds hut in a hemp field. He uses almost no fossil fuels, instead relying on sustainable solar power & wood. He wears hemp, enjoys hemp food and medicine. “I truly believe hemp can save the world & love to share the multitude of uses.”

Rebekah Shaman

Rebekah’s mission is to inspire conscious change by educating on the importance of Plant ‘Consciousness’ for our future survival, and assist those in the urban jungles to live more shamanically, reconnecting back to Nature, and the natural cycles and rhythms of life.

Dean Oliver

Dean is the architect of “Sacred,” a movement for the people.  Dean is passionate in uncovering the truth about dis-ease within the body, predominantly cancer, and has immersed himself in scientific study. He continues to question medical indoctrination and is committed to passing on the correct information so that you can live a more empowered life.


Hempen are a workers’ co-operative, cultivating in the UK.  They produce a wide range of organic hemp products. They take their ethos of care for the planet and for people into every part of the process, from the growing to the final product.  “All aspects of our production are done with blessings and love… We care where it’s coming from and who it’s going to.”

The Hemp Fairy

Elkie Meets The Hemp Fairy is a book that playfully educates about hemp/cannabis. A little girl meets a fairy who tells her all about the plant. The Hemp Fairy and author Chloe Forfitt will be visiting us to share their knowledge and magic with children of all ages.

Nathaniel Loxley, Vitality Hemp

Founded in 2014, Vitality Hemp are based in Sussex. They are focused on the cultivation of hemp in the UK, actively encouraging more farmers to grow.  They are are passionate about de-stigmatizing and raising awareness about hemp and are collaborating with a range of businesses to strengthen the infrastructure of the UK hemp industry. Vitality Hemp focus on the hemp food sector; aiming to bring the highest quality raw materials and products to market whilst exploring the multitude of nutritional benefits in new and interesting ways.


Mobius Loop

Mobius Loop create gypsy folk stories, fusing world music and conscious rap with eruptions of free-form dance charged with an intimately powerful and energetic live performance. Mobius Loop are on a mission to raise positive vibrations, in the name of Hemp Redemption and the infinite unknown.

Sunny & Ed Davidson are multi instrumentalist duo with a passion for creating conscious roots music. They are co founders of Celtic/dub fusion project Celtech and between them they’ve toured in Europe and the Middle East with such diverse acts as Michael Franti, Daragonsfly and Avalon Roots.

10 am to 12pm at Paddington Farm: A hands-on Workshop Creating Delicious Food Using Hemp Seeds with Janice Carr.  Hemp seeds can be ground to make milk and cream- Janice is a raw food chef and has many years experience in catering for events and workshops all over the world. This workshop is imited to 15 places.  There will be a £5 materials charge to pay on arrival.

10am to 12 at Paddington Farm: A panel Q&A with special guests- “CBD and the medical cannabis revolution.”

10 am to 12pm at a location in Glastonbury Town SOLD OUT: Hempcrete Building with Alex Sparrow. Alex will work with us to make hempcrete and we will use it to build a garden structure. Workshop limited to 15 places, £10 materials charge to pay on arrival.

12.30 to 2pm at Paddington Farm: a lunchtime acoustic concert with very special guests

2pm to 4pm at Paddington Farm: Dean Oliver will be presenting a talk and instructional, empowering workshop on producing and using this powerful plant medicine.

4.30pm to 6.30pm at Paddington Farm and in Glastonbury SOLD OUT: Participants can take part in the food/ hempcrete workshops that they did not attend in the morning.

4.30pm to 6.30 pm at Paddington Farm The Future for Hemp Liberation.  Panel discussion with Q&A.  Guest speakers to be confirmed.

There will be workshops to take part in presented by Hempen and others.  Free will be leading a local walk and discussion, sharing his knowledge and his treats.  A cafe will be open all day at Paddington Farm serving food, teas and juices.  There will be entertainment for your children so you can relax and fully take part in the workshops and yummy acoustic music in the cafe.

Children of all ages will be entertained at Hemp Fest. We have a full kid’s programme with circus, crafts, theatre, forest fun, an awesome play area, facepaints, bio-glitter… The Hemp Fairy will be making an appearance with the author/illustrator Chloe Forfitt.  Kid’s workshops will be running throughout Saturday and Sunday to coincide with our guest speakers so parents can relax and learn stuff- or just relax.


Incredible edibles will be available for your delectation: from kombucha, chocolates and cakes to pizzas and home-grown salads. All your munching needs catered for.

Throughout the site there will be a roaming team of helpful Hempstars. These are people with direct knowledge about and experience of cannabis/hemp. They will be able to direct you to what you might need and also to give information on our favourite plant.

Stalls selling hemp clothes, supplements and crafts will be joining us to party on the farm.

There will be hemp-inspired artwork throughout the site, including the beautiful photography of Ezra Soiferman- artist in residence at Tweed, Canada.

With areas to relax, places to learn, gardens to enjoy, and great tunes to get you dancing, this will be a beautiful weekend.
